Romans 8:2

Romans 8:2

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. It's made us free from the law of sin and death!!! For we read in Romans 6:23 that
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." We've been set free from that. What we deserve is death and hell. But what we get, thanks to Jesus death on the cross, is eternal life........heaven. You know, I've heard people all my life talk about hell......we won't get into how many told me to go there.....hehehehe. Most folks who know nothing about the bible, and even some who do, think it's a place to party. Sex, drugs, and rock & roll throughout eternity. I want to you hear one lady's description of hell.....it doesn't sound like any party. The story is 2nd hand, and comes to you as told by E.V. Hill from a Christian show on TBN called Praise the Lord:

There is a pastor name E.V. Hill. He was on the other
night and told a story told to him by a pastor named
Jack. He asked Jack why he was such an adamant soul
winner. Every thing is about souls for that guy.
Pastor Hayford told him: One night I was awakened
from my sleep by a blood curdling scream. It was his
sister up stairs. He went up immediately to see what
was up. He tried to comfort her by telling her it was
only a dream. She screamed out saying "no it wasn't,
it was real, feel the heat on my skin? I was in
hell." She said, "I was standing outside the gate of
hell and there was a man there." She said she could
see and hear the people screaming and their faces were
all contorted in pain. She asked the man, "could
you please open the door to let some air in?" The
man answered, "no, there's no air in hell."
She asked, "sir, could you please give them a drink
of water?" He answered, "no, there's no water in
hell." She then asked, " sir, please, could you just
let them die???" He answered, "no lady, there's no
death in hell." She asked, "well then how long will
this torment last for them???" He answered,
"forever, and ever, and ever."
She said as she began to turn, "Jack, I saw daddy
there." Jack told pastor Hill, "that's why, I
don't want anyone else's daddy to end up in hell."

It's not a party place, and it's not a better place to be. The hell's angels used to say, "I'd rather burn in hell on my feet, than serve in heaven on my knees." None of them know what they're in for. Jesus described it as a place where the fire is never quenched, and the worm doesn't die. Demons will mock and harass those who end up in hell.......because God made a way out through Jesus, and they chose not to take His free gift. We deserve all that and more........but God in His infinite mercy has let us live, and live a much better life than we had before. No, it's not a bed of roses, and there will be battles and sad times. But Jesus said He'd give us peace, not like the world has.......it's not in the bottom of a bottle or with another sexual conquest. No, it's in knowing that your sins are forgiven, and that the Creator of the Universe knows you by name, and that Jesus is praying for you each and every day! Eeeeeeeeeeeeee glory! Have a great day and a blessed weekend. :-) PJ

Condemnation???

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee glory! Is that good news or what? No condemnation. Once we receive Jesus (confess with our mouth, and believe in our hearts Jesus is Lord, and that God raised Him from the dead Romans 10:9) all our sins are completely erased. They are forgiven and forgotten. Oh, our friends and family may never forget, and may even jab us once in a while with comments regarding our past.......but God never will. It's done......it's over with. Never to be remembered by Him again. And the great thing about the blood of Jesus is, it's perpetual. It forgives yesterday's sins, today's, and will forgive tomorrow's!!! That's not an excuse to go buck wild or anything.........but it's a comfort we have in Jesus. None of us is perfect, and as long as we're on this planet we never will be. I really dislike it when folks belittle others and say "If you do this......you're not being a very good example!" (And believe me.....I'm guilty of doing it.) Peter cut off a dude's ear.......now we all understand why he did it.....but did Jesus pull him aside and say, "Peter, you're not being a very good example of a follower of Me."? No, He didn't. So what gives other Christians the right to do that, and say that? Nothing!!! Absolutely nothing. God is dealing with us all in different ways, and at different levels. Could we be better examples at times.......sure. Do we blow it from time to time? Sure. But we're all learning, and growing at a different pace. Eventually we will grow into what we should be.......and as long as we're reading the word of God, and talking to Daddy on a daily basis.......we're going to change. A little bit every day. The Holy Spirit will see to that. We don't need other folks putting us down, or comparing us with others. If you don't like the way another servant of God is behaving.......talk to God about it. I guarantee you if you do.......you'll get an answer. But it may not be the answer you expect. Maybe you (or I) need to change......not them. See, I've fallen into that trap. I'm confessing here and now that I used to look down upon other Christians who acted certain ways, or who didn't act the way I thought they should. I guess I thought I was the "Christian Police". Boy oh boy did I get a stern talking to from the LORD. He let me know in no uncertain terms that He was the Judge of all, and if I didn't like it, that was just too bad. And who did I think I was, trying to do the Holy Spirit's job? Were they serving me, or Him? Oh man.......I only say this to keep you from having that "talking to" from the Lord that I had. Yikes. It was no fun. We should not attempt to condemn anyone who's following Christ. Now if someone is openly sinning you can go to them privately and minister to them. But belittling them or condemning someone for where they are in their walk with Christ is not helpful to anyone.

It is my goal to go through this entire chapter, one verse at a time. I did not intend for this message to be this long. I'm sorry I babbled on so long. I just see it as a sad thing, that the army of God is the only army that kills its wounded. It shouldn't be that way. Also for those of you in JesusfreaksRus or ChristianFriends you'll notice we have fewer members now. Members who were bouncing for over 3 months were removed. I know some of them personally and they either don't have internet access anymore, or have other email addresses which I will attempt to get from them ASAP. So no one left they were just kind of moved out........because they had already moved on. I appreciate all your support and prayers.....they mean more than you'll ever know. Have a great day and God bless. :-) Pastor James

PS: In this post it's not my intent to single anyone out, or anything like that. I still have trouble in this area due to some preconceived notions I have in my head about faith, and being faithful. God is still working on me, I'm not done yet. I want to have a shirt made like that. You know, a "construction zone" sign on the shirt, and a caption "God's still working on me." I think that would be a cool shirt.
